Wow! It's been a long time since my last post. I've been writing reviews all along but they're getting backlogged at the various sites I write for. Anyhoo, here's my latest review now up at Title Trakk. It's for

Here's how my review begins:

If you love travelogues, armchair journeys, and inspirational stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things, you'll love Lyn Hanush's Putting a Face on America. In this well-put-together coffee table book, Hanush tells the story of her walk across America from the Peace Gate on the Washington/Canada border to the southernmost point in the United States in the Florida Keys. She shares storytelling duties with her co-walkers, Joni Balog, who made the whole 14-month trip, and her granddaughter, Samantha Gruver, who walked about halfway.

Yes, I did say "granddaughter," which is where part of the inspiration comes from: Hanush and Balog are both grandmothers, and some of their friends who walked partway with them were older still. Bravo to them! Especially when you read that they walked over 4,000 miles!
